Approval Letter for Wastewater Discharge Technology
Wastewater technical approval is an approval by the government that states that the company must comply with environmental protection and management standards when managing and treating wastewater.
Basic Informations

1.      Wastewater technical approval is an approval by the government that states that the company must comply with environmental protection and management standards when managing and treating wastewater.

2.      Wastewater technology approval may be exempted if the company uses a third-party (including within the industrial park) existing wastewater technology approval for wastewater treatment.

3.      In the second case, a letter of explanation is required stating that no wastewater technical approval is required or a letter of explanation that no wastewater technical approval is required.

4.      The company’s wastewater treatment activities are divided into:

a.      Disposing of wastewater in surface water (rivers and lakes)

b.      Applying wastewater to land

c.      Disposing of wastewater to a certain location

d.      Disposing of wastewater in the sea

5.      Technical approval documents are divided into two types: technical standard documents and technical analysis report documents. When specifying technical approval documents, they will be based on the usage or wastewater treatment and the KBLI number, for example:

Technical Standard Document

Technical Analysis Report Document

Disposing of wastewater in surface water (rivers and lakes)

Regarding the activities of treating wastewater from domestic waste.

Regarding the activities of treating production wastewater and waste.

Applying wastewater to land

Regarding the activities of treating wastewater from domestic waste and production waste (excluding cultivated plants or agriculture and horticulture).

Regarding the healthcare industry (hospitals).

Disposing of wastewater in the sea

Regarding the activities of discharging wastewater into the sea, a wastewater technical analysis report document must be prepared.

Disposing of wastewater to a certain location

Regarding the activities of treating wastewater into surface water.

Regarding the activities of discharging wastewater to a specific location (excluding surface water).

6.      The wastewater technology approval remains valid as long as there are no changes in the wastewater volume and wastewater management system

7.      If there is no wastewater technology approval or if it has not been prepared, environmental technology approval cannot proceed.

8.      After the trial period specified in the wastewater technology approval document ends, the company must notify and report that the installation of the IPAL/WWTP has been completed in order to obtain the SLO operation certificate (which is also one of the conditions for the IPAL/WWTP).
