1.      Before applying for the CPKB (Good Manufacturing Practice for Cosmetics) license, local cosmetic factories in Indonesia must first pass the review of the cosmetic factory layout and obtain an approval letter, indicating that their factory layout, functional areas, and related facilities meet the official BPOM requirements and are capable of conducting cosmetic production activities in compliance with quality standards.

2.      The planned product forms are mainly divided into two categories:

3.      If there are no changes in the factory’s spatial structure, layout, or building functions, the approval letter will remain valid. However, if there are any changes, a new approval letter must be applied for.

4.      The layout of a qualified cosmetic factory should include:

–        Warehouse area: Includes raw material area, packaging area, and finished product area (the finished product area includes quarantine area, storage area, and rejection area)

–        Production area: Includes weighing area, mixing area, filling area, and packaging area

–        Changing rooms: Should be located before the production area

–        Production area flooring: Should use epoxy resin to facilitate cleaning and disinfection.

5.      It is recommended that the company postpone the installation of relevant equipment and other work until the approval letter is obtained, in order to avoid inconvenience in case the BPOM officials require adjustments to the factory layout or other aspects.
