Vehicle Type Test Registration

Companies that produce/assemble/import vehicles in/indonesia must apply for a SUT model test certificate to prove that the relevant vehicles have passed the model test.

Basic Informations

1. Companies that produce/assemble/import vehicles in/indonesia must apply for a SUT model test certificate to prove that the relevant vehicles have passed the model test.

2. Before applying for the SUT model test certificate, the company must:

a. Obtained the company registration number and VIN vehicle identification code (such as the vehicle assembled in Indonesia); or
b. The registration documents of the test model have been obtained (for example, the vehicle is imported into Indonesia in a fully assembled state of CBU).

3. In order to obtain the SUT model test certificate, the relevant vehicle must have passed the model test of the Ministry of Communications. Therefore, it is guaranteed that the technical specifications of the relevant models have comply with Indonesian laws and regulations.

4. The model test includes several tests, such as: vehicle structure detection, size detection, light detection, tire detection, turning radius detection, empty vehicle weight detection, brake detection, speedometer function, horn sound level detection, seat belt detection, emission detection and other tests, which are carried out according to the model.

5. If you pass the model test, the model will obtain the SUT model test certificate. If it fails, the relevant model can be tested again. Therefore, before applying for the SUT model test certificate, it is recommended that the company meet all the valid technical specifications in Indonesia.

6. After applying for SUT, the company (manufacturer/importer) can carry out mass production or import.

7. If the company does not apply for the SUT model test certificate, the relevant model cannot apply for the SRUT model test registration certificate. The SRUT model test registration certificate is the legal certificate for the use/sale of each vehicle.

2. Business registration certificate

4. ID card/passport of director/legal representative

5. Company and directors’ tax card

6. Activated SS standard certificate/business license

7. Company Letterhead And Seal

8. VIN vehicle identification code:

1. If the vehicle is assembled in Indonesia, the company must provide a VIN vehicle identification code of at least the first 9 characters.

2. If the vehicle is fully assembled and imported by CBU, the company must provide a complete VIN vehicle identification code (17 characters) issued by the manufacturer.
